The Durham Museum

801 S. 10th St - Located in historic Union Station, the museum offers unique hands on learning for people of all ages. Enjoy an extraordinary array of permanent exhibits including restored train cars, 1940's storefronts, numerous artifacts showcasing the history of the region, the Byron Reed collection and an original soda fountain. Impressive temporary exhibition's through The Durham's affiliation with the Smithsonian and close ties with the Library of Congress, National Archive and Chicago's Field Museum. Open Tue, 10am-8pm; Wed-Sat, 10am-5pm; Sun, 1-5pm. Also open June-Aug & Dec, Mon, 10am-5pm. Closed major holidays. Admission: $7 adults, $6 seniors, $5 ages 3-12, members free. 402-444-5071
