Trailside Museum of Natural History

3200 W. US Hwy 20, 3 mi. W. on US Hwy 20 in Fort Robinson State Park - The new Clash of the Mammoths exhibit features the fossils of two mammoths whose tusks locked together during an Ice Age battle for dominance. They fell to the earth while still locked together, were unable to separate and died where they fell - a fossil find unlike any other in the world. Also find other fascinating western Nebraska fossil and geology displays. Open Memorial Day-Labor Day, daily, 9am-6pm; Apr-May & Sep-Oct, Thu-Sun, 10am-5pm. Admission: $3 adults, $1 children, ages 4 and under are free. Family admission is $6. 308-665-2929
