1111 Bellevue Blvd N. - Explore Nebraska's historic forest just outside of Omaha. Fontenelle Forest Nature Center, one of Nebraska's five National Natural Landmarks, features 1,400 acres of lush forest and 19 miles of trails, including two wheelchair accessible boardwalks. Within this natural oasis, you will find premier birding sites, rare wildflowers and unlimited opportunities for outdoor adventure. The area also holds remnants of ancient Native American tribes, portions of the Mormon Trail and details of Lewis and Clark's journey. Below towering oak trees lies Acorn Acres, an outdoor playscape where children and nature connect. Within the Katherine and Fred Buffett Forest Learning Center, you will find two exploration galleries, a gift shop and unique programs for all ages. Open daily, 8am-5pm.
